ADNOC Onshore Gas has awarded to Galfar Engineering & Contracting WLL Emirates, Procurement and Construction for Rehabilitation and Integrity Reinstatement of Flowlines and Trunk lines Project in BAB and ASAB fields for the duration of 42 Months.

SCOPE:

BAB & ASAB ASR Fields are experiencing dislocations and buckling in the wellheads Piping and Pipeline. Many remedial and permanent actions had been implemented in BAB field in OGD-III (33 flowlines & 4 trunklines) which was the latest project of rehabilitation and modification in Bab completed in April 2019, but the numbers kept increasing. Currently 49 wells are flowing with dislocation issue (29 in Bab & 20 in Asab).

The project scope involves replacement of the affected flow lines or providing modifications to flow line / trunk line supports for handling displacement. Scope also includes some rerouting and subsequent modification in RMS’s requirement in order to reduce the congestion in field.

The following field challenges were considered while developing the field architecture and surface facilities options:

  • Current Corridors for RMS 2, 3 & 6 are full.
  • Space availability is a showstopper with safety risks.
  • Highly congested DGM area near AGP and crestal area.
  • Most of the existing flow lines are outside official corridors (shortest distance) trapping significant amount of land.
  • Future wells to be tied in for business continuity.
  • JV, ASR & 3rd party facilities compete for space

Considering the above factors, ADNOC Onshore is assigned Galfar Engineering to carry out Detail Design for surface facility requirement in order to achieve the project objectives.

OBJECTVE:

  1. Replacement of damaged flow lines with potential new routing to avoid field congestion in line with BAB Master Plan Guideline with coating of 2 LFBE instead of 3 Layer Polypropylene due to coating failure – Total 86 Nos flowlines (58 recycle wells and 28 depletion wells) replacement in BAB.
  2. Demolition of 147 Nos flowlines (for 86 Nos flowlines replacement as above and 61 demolition wells) in Bab.

Re-instatement work for piping and flow lines to handle their movement and displacement such as construction of anchor block, berm re-instatement, increase in burial depth and new berm construction for dislocations and buckling in the wellheads piping and pipeline issue – 20 Nos in ASAB.
