QC Inspector (WELDING)
- Quality Control Procedures:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for welding processes.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Inspections and Testing:
- Conduct visual inspections of welds to identify defects such as cracks, porosity, or incomplete fusion1.
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, such as ultrasonic testing or radiographic testing, to detect hidden defects1.
- Compliance Monitoring:
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to welding.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant welding codes and standards, such as those from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)1.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities.
- Prepare detailed reports on quality performance and compliance.
- Issue Resolution:
- Identify and address any quality issues or defects in welding processes.
- Collaborate with project teams to implement corrective actions.
- Training and Supervision:
- Train and supervise welding personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the team.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in welding technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Inspector-Structural (CWI-S) are highly desirable1.
- Experience:
- Experience in quality control within the welding industry.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing quality control procedures.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections and tests.
